SCImago Institutions Ranking
IMU is ranked within the top 700 globally and the 29th in Turkey in SCImago 2022 Rankings.
The 2022 Rankings has been announced for the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR), which assesses academic and research-related institutions based on three different sets of indicators; i.e., research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility. In this year’s list containing a total of 8084 institutions and 4364 universities from all over the world, Istanbul Medeniyet University (IMU) has achieved significant success by being ranked the 696th university globally and the 29th university in Turkey.
In addition to the overall rankings, SCImago Institutions Rankings 2022 also assessed the scientific performance of universities in 19 different areas. In these rankings by subject areas, IMU has made impressive achievements and risen to a leading position in certain areas among global and national universities. To provide a few examples from the ranking list by subject areas, IMU is ranked the 1st in Economics, Econometrics and Finance in Turkey and the 228th globally, and the 2nd in Environmental Science in Turkey and the 218th globally. Significantly improving on its last year’s performance in these and many other areas, IMU is ranked the 5th nationally and the 365th globally in Mechanical Engineering; the 6th nationally and the 643rd globally in Business, Management and Accounting; the 3rd nationally and the 398th globally in Psychiatry and Mental Health; and the 5th nationally and the 236th globally in Ophthalmology.
