Our University’s Central Library hosted a meaningful and colorful visit as part of Library Week activities. Students aged 3–6 from our university’s kindergarten, accompanied by their teachers, visited our library on April 7, 2026, and experienced the excitement of encountering a library environment for the first time.
The visit, attended by a total of 23 young students, aimed to instill a love of books in children at an early age and foster an awareness of the library. The event began with an informative presentation by İlknur Erşen Aydın, a staff member of our Library and Documentation Directorate, held in the Hasan Polatkan Hall. During the presentation, the library’s operations, the importance of books, and proper usage habits were conveyed in a language appropriate for the children’s age level and in an engaging manner.
As part of the program, the students had the opportunity to reinforce what they learned by watching an educational animated film explaining the meaning and importance of Library Week. During the subsequent library tour, the children explored the ground floor of our Central Library, experiencing firsthand this special environment filled with books.
Throughout the visit, the students’ excitement and interest were evident, and the event contributed to the children developing a positive perception of the library.
