The theater performance titled “For Gaza: Peace,” staged by our university’s Theater Club with the aim of drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, was presented to the audience. The event, held at the Aşık Paşa Hall on the South Campus, addressed the situation of the Palestinian people while also commemorating the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the region.
The first performance of the event took place on May 8, 2026. This performance was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül, university faculty members, students, and numerous guests. The play was staged again on May 14, 2026, in the same hall. This second performance was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül, our General Secretary Ali Ramazan Tak, and a large number of audience members.
The play centered on the writing process of Fikret, a young writer and member of the Club, and the plot that took shape during this process. The play depicted the journey of Tarık—a character created by Fikret, who redirected his path to Palestine following advice from his mentor—as he personally traveled to Gaza in search of peace.
The production, which incorporated motifs from the Turkish-Islamic world and Palestinian culture, presented the audience with a blend of lighting, sound, and visual designs interwoven with symbolic imagery.
