DILMER 8th International Student Festival Held

22.05.2026

Organized to reflect our university’s multicultural structure and international solidarity, the DİLMER 8th International Student Festival was held on Wednesday, May 20, at the Aşık Paşa Conference Hall on the South Campus.

The event was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül, DİLMER Director Dr. Selim Tiryakiol, and our students.

The program began with opening remarks, during which our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bülbül and DİLMER Director Dr. Selim Tiryakiol highlighted our university’s vision for internationalization and the importance of students from diverse cultures coming together under our university’s umbrella.

Following the opening remarks, our international students took the stage and entertained the audience with their performances. The stage program began with a bağlama recital featuring traditional Turkish melodies. This was followed by a guitar and vocal performance by our students from Belize and Brazil. After a poetry recital by our Ahiska Turkish students, a Pakistani dance performance and a dombra recital—featuring one of Central Asia’s iconic instruments—took place. The stage performances concluded with a guitar and vocal recital by our Russian and Kazan Turkish students, following the Kazakh dance performance.

The booths, which opened simultaneously with the stage program, also drew significant attention. In this context, alongside the Turkish booth, our students showcased their countries’ cultural elements, traditional attire, and promotional materials at booths representing the Ahiska Turks, Russia, Peru, Guatemala, Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the Balkans, Libya, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Somalia, and Palestine.

The program concluded with a group photo taken on stage, featuring all the students and faculty members who contributed to the event.
